This screen contains the "drag and drop" area for uploading image files to the server. Images can be imported one by one or multiple ones at a time (serially uploaded). Entire projects with all their images etc. would be imported in the project listing view. In the user-specific settings, there is a setting that causes all the acceptable image formats to be saved in non-destructive PNG format or JPEG format. WebP images are accepted as uploadable images. During the upload a scaling algorithm (Mitchell) and post-processing effects are applied to images, which preserve image details better than e.g. bicubic or bilinear methods.
Individual images can be replaced in the "particular browsing" view. There, a separate outbound image (JPEG) can be generated for a PNG image, which is useful if the image at its best quality should be preserved while also speeding up loading times in posts. Large PNG images can be e.g. 5 MB in size, while a JPEG image may be e.g only 400 KB. For all JPEG images saved, the quality setting is over 90%, meaning the difference in quality compared to a PNG image is not necessarily discernible.
